Freight logistics giant Rhenus has announced the start of construction on its new warehouse and headquarters at Port Salford, Manchester.  With development projected to be complete by the fourth quarter of 2017, the task will create 10 new jobs.  Rhenus has 13 sites around the UK and has seen a huge amount of sustainable growth with a 10% increase in volume.  As a result, the company decided to relocate its headquarters from Trafford Park to Port Salford.  The new site was strategically planned, as it offers their customers the fastest and most efficient routes into and out of the UK.

David Williams, Rhenus UK managing director, said: “We’ve seen plans for the sight come together quickly and construction work is moving along in line with the projected schedule. We think this investment in our facilities will not only allow Rhenus to extend its logistics solutions in the UK, but help companies looking to export goods access a world-leading service from us and the surrounding development.”
