Toyota Material Handling has expanded on their navigation methods for automated vehicles called natural navigation.  They currently offer a wide range of automated trucks that use the Autopilot Method, and with natural navigation customers will have even more options.  Natural navigation has great benefits because it is quicker to set up and uses a simpler installation method.

The Autopilot method that is currently used is equipped with reflector navigation, a method in which consistent and high-contrast targets are added to the environment.  This new natural navigation utilises recognisable reference points throughout the warehouse, such as walls, racking, and fixed objects, to calculate the trucks location.  The truck will be able to navigate without the need for extra equipment, making it a lower-cost alternative to the Autopilot method.  However, these two navigations methods can be used together when necessary.
