Galileo Maritime Academy is located just 10 minutes from Phuket International Airport at Yacht Haven Marina, the largest superyacht marina in the Asia Pacific, overlooking the exotic seascape of Phang Nga Bay.

Galileo’s team of instructors are dedicated instructors in their respective fields of maritime training. We are young at heart and enjoy making the learning experience fun, realistic and practical. Classroom time is kept to a minimum so there is plenty of time spent in or on the water, at sea in our own training vessels, tenders, lifeboats and rescue ribs including training in the school of engineering and our advanced firefighting facilities. Our instructors are internationally certified and have a world of experience to pass on to you.
Galileo provides a wide range of safety, security and first aid courses to meet the needs of superyachts and cruise ship, merchant ship and oil / gas rig owners, managers and operators. These courses meet and exceed the international standards established by IMO, MNTB, MCA and ISPS.

Galileo also provides entry level and advanced skills and service training for superyacht crew. Superyacht crew courses include exterior deck crew, interior steward and stewardess, combined skills for deckhand / steward or stewardess, and culinary courses for yacht chef and experienced chefs who transition from a land career to an onboard career.

In addition to established courses, Galileo works with client companies to develop training programs that meet their own specific training needs and policies, providing consultancy services and also undertaking on-board security and safety audits with reports and recommendations.
Galileo and its partner company, SGS Security Limited, provide consultancy to ship and oil and gas installation owners, managers and operators, in the following areas:
1) Security and Safety Audits – Onboard and on-site reviews of security and safety arrangements with full reports and recommendations by qualified expert instructors and experienced consultants.
2) Training Course Development – Galileo works with clients to design and develop training programs to meet the client’s training requirements for safety, security, first aid, fire prevention and firefighting, protection and anti-piracy / terrorism and human factors. These courses can be delivered on board, on-site or at Galileo Maritime Academy.
3) Crew Recruitment – Galileo is able to undertake client projects to recruit experienced and novice crew to meet client’s requirements and train the crew to the client’s specification and to MCA standards and certification.
